Truck drivers unloading fuel find body of missing man in tanker, 2 suspects arrested: reports – crime online

Two men were charged Tuesday in connection with the death of an Illinois man who was found dead in an oil tanker in June.

KPLR reported that Billy Roof III, 33, and Ryan Murrow, 37, are charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and with unlawful concealment of a death, while Roof has also been charged with illegal use of numbers account.

Authorities have not disclosed how exactly their arrests relate to the death of Garrett Meyer, 29, whose body was found in a tanker near Buckley on June 4. KPLR reported that two men were unloading fuel from a truck at the station when they opened. an entry point into the tanker and made the macabre discovery.

An Iroquois County Coroner’s report said Meyer had lethal levels of amphetamines and fentanyl in his system and a blood alcohol level of 0.181. His death was ruled as an overdose, according to WCIA.

Roof and Murrow remain in jail without bail. It is not known how they relate to the deceased man.
