JAMMU: The Counseling and Placement Cell in collaboration with NAHEP-IDP SKUAST Jammu under the leadership of Prof. JP Sharma, Vice Chancellor, organized an online conference for students and faculty members on “Postdoctoral Research Fulbright-Nehru and Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships”.
The lecture was given by Dr. Inumulu Jaya Bharti, Program Coordinator-India Program, United States-India Educational Foundation (Fulbright-Commission), New Delhi. In his speech, Dr. Jaya pointed out that these fellowships are designed for Indian professors and researchers who are at the early stages of their research careers and gave an overview of the eligibility criteria and general prerequisites for these fellowships. She added that postdoctoral fellowships provide opportunities for talented professors and researchers to build their research capacity.
Further adding that postdoctoral fellows will have access to some of the best resources in their areas of interest and help build long-term collaborative relationships with US faculties and institutions and the duration of these fellowships is eight to 24 months.
Dr. Jaya also interacted with the participants and answered their questions about these scholarships. The conference brought together students and faculty members and was convened by Professor Sanjay Guleria, Head, Counseling and Placement Cell and NAHEP-IDP Associate Scientist.
