RQM + shares a free search and filtering tool for European medical device regulations with the mobility industry • THIIS Magazine

Global regulatory and quality consultancy RQM + has created a new tool that allows mobility and access manufacturers to easily navigate the EU’s Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

The tool enables quick searches by subject, chapter, article and search term, saving regulatory professionals administrative time.

Rather than highlighting or pasting a hard copy, users can also save notes on corporate interpretations of MDR sections and even individual sentences in the tool itself.

The launch comes on the back of an IVDR filtering tool, created to help manufacturers work towards the next EU In Vitro Diagnostic (IVDR) regulation.

IVDR and MDR tools are now available for medical device professionals to download and consult for their daily work.

Dr Jaishankar Kutty, Vice President of Clinical Services at RQM +, said: “I recently discovered this tool after joining RQM + in February, and my first reaction was: It would have been wonderful to have this tool when we we launched in the first MDR Avis at BSI!

“More than any other stakeholder, notified bodies need to know the regulations inside and out, and this tool makes it so easy to check the requirements. It now sits on my desktop for easy access and has been extremely helpful and welcome support thus far.

Nancy Morrison, Executive Director, Regulatory & Quality Consulting Services, who originally developed these tools to support the RQM + team commented: Bring together all sections that refer to a compliance area.

“We help our clients put in place clear and organized processes to facilitate short and long term compliance, and I hope these tools will make the job of regulatory professionals easier as well. “
