ATLANTA — Many people use a sample ballot to choose their vote before they go to the polls, ensuring they make an informed decision on Election Day.

In Peach State, a sample ballot usually includes a mock-up of an actual ballot that one uses to vote.

On the sample, voters can see candidate lists, ballot metrics, and voting instructions.

Here’s how you can find a sample ballot in Georgia:

According to the Georgia.gov website, registered voters receive a sample ballot by mail before an election.

Persons who have not received a sample ballot should ensure that they are registered to vote and that their address is correctly indicated on their registration.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter page is a one-stop-shop to view your sample ballot, find your polling place, or verify that you’re registered to vote.

To access the page, first log in online by entering your first initial, legal last name, county of residence and date of birth.

Once you have logged in, the website will display a section that says “personal information”. There’s a little footer at the bottom of this section that says “View Sample Ballot”.

Once you click on this footer, the website opens a pop-up window that allows you to view three options to display – an example of a Democratic, Republican or non-partisan ballot.

“The sample ballots are provided as a public service. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, we cannot guarantee that the sample ballots displayed here will exactly match those used in your office. vote,” reads a statement on the My Voter Page website. .

The website indicates that sample ballots are available in Adobe Acrobat format. Those who do not have Adobe Reader installed can visit Adobe’s website to download the reader for free and view a sample ballot.
