From July 1, recipients of unemployment benefits in the United States will be entitled to zero-premium health care plans with little or no financial outlay obligatory.
Financial assistance for unemployment will be provided through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), who recently survived a challenge to the Supreme Court of a number of Republican-led states. The new free program was included in the $ 1.9 trillion US bailout package signed by President Biden.
Cynthia Cox, director of the Affordable Care Act program at the Kaiser Family Foundation, was optimistic about the development: “People who have been unemployed at some point this year can essentially benefit from very generous or free health coverage.
From July 1, people who received unemployment benefits in 2021 cannot benefit from any health insurance premium on https://t.co/lJvUVZodqt for the rest of the year. It could be a great source of coverage, if people hear about it. https://t.co/iUnX5gmOVL

How to register for free unemployment health insurance
The US bailout has provided special grants to Affordable Care Act programs that can negate some “silver” level policies. The Department of Health and Social Services anticipates that three in five eligible uninsured Americans will be able to access health care plans at $ 0.
You can sign up for these exceptional offers on health care.gov, with a new online portal open until August 15, 2021. If you already have insurance through a Healthcare.gov policy, you can also use the portal to update your information and find a cheaper option.
The Healthcare.gov online portal will first ask for an original state and an email address to begin the process. You will then have the option of creating an account, from which you can enter personal data and information on your current professional situation.
Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said of the news: “We are doing everything we can to remove financial barriers to comprehensive health care.
She added, “The US bailout offers consumers additional savings and will make coverage even more accessible to those who need it most. “
The American Rescue Plan also made other changes to the healthcare system that will make insurance more affordable for all Americans. In the past, ACA was only available to those earning no more than 400% of the national poverty level; this cap will be removed in 2022.
In addition, a special enrollment period was created by Biden’s executive order in February to make it easier for individuals to find coverage in the market. The CMS announced in early June that over a million Americans took advantage of the registration period, which runs until August 15.
