Amazon to launch search performance analysis tool

25 October 2021

Ecommerce giant Amazon is launching a tool to help sellers pull insights into the search performance of their products. The service will be available in the United States early next year.

According to Srikanth Thirumalai (photo), vice president of research at Amazon, the new “Search Analytics Dashboard” will provide sellers with anonymized data to help them understand the interests and buying choices of customers. Sellers using the tool can optimize their listings, inform inventory planning, plan their product development roadmap, and grow their business on and off Amazon.

The tool will enhance the company’s existing Brand Analytics aggregate data reporting suite, which includes repeat buying behavior reports, market cart analysis, item comparison, buying behavior alternative and demographics. In addition, it will include catalog and query performance dashboards. The catalog is designed to help sellers identify conversion issues or tipping points where they lose customer attention, and analyze the price competitiveness of products; while Query helps them understand the main search elements associated with their products, in order to improve the choice of keywords.
