Body found amid search for missing Memphis mom Eliza Fletcher – Crime Online

The Memphis Police Department announced Monday that a body was found during the search for missing mother Eliza Fletcher.

Memphis Police tweeted Monday evening: “At 5:07 p.m. officers from the 1600 block of Victor located a deceased person. The identity of this person and the cause of death are not confirmed at this time. The investigation is ongoing. »

At this time, it is unknown if the body is that of missing mother Eliza Fletcher.

Eliza Fletcher was abducted around 4:40 a.m. Friday morning while jogging near the 3800 block of Central Avenue near the University of Memphis.

On Sunday, police arrested and charged convicted felon Cleotha Abston in connection with Fletcher’s disappearance. Abston has a long criminal history, including a previous kidnapping where he was sentenced to 24 years. Abston was released in November 2020.
