After opposition wrath, Karnataka CM visits areas affected by rain in Chikkaballapur district
Speaking to reporters, CM Bommai said: “Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts suffered severe losses of crops, houses and public property during recent heavy rains. Preliminary loss reports had been obtained and a full report on the exact destruction would be available within days. The exact compensation to be released would be decided upon receipt of the full report ”.
He also issued orders for the preparation of a detailed project report for the construction of a Rajakaluve irrigation reservoir connecting Kandavara to the Gopalakrishna reservoir in order to avoid flooding in the region.
Heavy rains do not deter drug network, 3 gangs dismantled in southern states
The Bengaluru Zone Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has in the past nine days dismantled three drug syndicates operating in the southern states of the country, seized banned narcotics and arrested six people.
Amit Ghawate, zone manager (Chennai), said on Sunday that based on entries from the Bengaluru zonal unit, they were able to seize 244 grams of amphetamine, 25 LSD patches, 2 grams of methaqualone, 40 grams of methamphetamine and 212.5 kg of ganja (all psychotropic substances) in three different operations over the past nine days.
